Arguably the most important determinant of sports floor performance is the shock pad used in its construction. Working closely with our technical division - a leading manufacturer of solutions for vibration control - Embelton sports floors use the highest quality elastometric shock pads, specially designed to maintain their dynamic properties over time by resisting creep under load, which will result in a subsequent loss of elasticity.

Embelton sports floors have been labaratory tested and exceed the benchmark standard for sports floors - BS7044 pt. 4 (1991) "Artificial Sports Surfaces - Specification for surfaces for multi-sports use".

Choices of timber

Timber Mosaic Parquetry - will have a backing material which binds the timber fingers to form pre-fabricated panels.
Block Parquetry - solid blocks of parquetry allowing a customised design for the floor.
Solid Strip Timber - the timber board shall be tongue and grooved, end matched, frog backed or grooved select grade flooring.

The timber species used are generally lighter in colour, with popular species being Blue Gum or Tasmanian Oak, both favoured for their hardness and durability.
